Irv
Koons has been designated as one of the “2000 Outstanding Artists
and Designers of the Twentieth Century” in the volume published
by Cambridge International Biographical Society.
His works are included in the collections of Cooper Hewitt National Design
Museum, Smithsonian Institute, The Jewish Museum, Hagley Museum (complete
corporate collection with case histories including over 8000 slides and
items) among others. He has won over 200 awards and honors for art and
design. He was presented the Pratt Institute Alumni Achievement Award “for
an impressive body of creative work”.
He has lectured extensively on marketing and design for NYU Executive Education
Program, Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia
University, World Trade Organization, China-US Scientific Exchange. He
has also lectured in England, Holland, Brazil, India, Union of South Africa,
Turkey, Indonesia. He delivered the keynote address for the Marketing Awards
Ceremony at the Graduate School of Marketing, Tel Aviv University and was
guest speaker for Israel's Design Associations and schools.
After Saatchi and Saatchi Worldwide acquired his internationally known
firm, he resigned to accept an appointment as Senior Advisor to the Administrator
of United Nations Development Programme. He has recently resigned that
position. He is now concentrating on synagogue art and design, in addition
to corporate image consultation. He is also writing and illustrating a
series of children’s books. |
