Simultaneous to his corporate work, Irv Koons has contributed consultation, art and design for many Jewish institutions. For over 20 years, he served as design and graphics consultant for Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of N.Y./ UJA. For over 20 years he was design and graphics consultant for the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. In addition, he produced projects for Union of American Hebrew Congregations, American Jewish Committee, Synagogue Council of America, Jewish Museum,American Israel Cultural Foundation, Foundation for Future Generations, World Brotherhood Foundation, United Home for Aged Hebrews, and others, including Temple Emanu-el of Englewood, New Jersey.

His extensive library of books on art and design has been contributed to CTE Holon, Israel, an affiliate of Tel Aviv University.

He has also provided design consultation and art for American Cancer Society, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute, United CerebralPalsy, Food Policy Center, Legal Aid Society and others.
Memorial Wall for Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York Major Conference Hall, installed 1960, 50 ft.wide x 8’10” high. Seven back lighted stained glass panels. Central panel is 57 3/4 inches wide, others are about 12 1/2 inches wide. When the Conference Hall was redesigned several years ago, the stained glass panels were returned to the artist as a courtesy. The central panel, with or without smaller panels, are now available for installation in an appropriate institution.
